When designing websites, it's important to understand the different ways in which to grab a person's attention. One of those ways is through texture.
Applying texture or layers to your backgrounds, navigation bars, etc. will catch the eyes of your viewers. Simply having a gradient or a feathered shadow
on the background of a piece of content can be a great addition to your website!
I feel like this trend will definitley become a future standard. It's a great way to make your website less-boring!
A lot of what we see on the internet is very boxy. Everytyhing from the way a boilerplate is designed, to most image portfolios on the web.
However, a big trend that has been aspiring the past couple years is rounded corners. Rounded corners have created a better way of displaying
information buttons, logos, and so on. Buttons are said to give viewers a sense of safety and friendliness.
I feel like this trend is already the standard! We see rounded corners everywhere in websites nowadays.
Scroll-based animations have become a staple for fun, trendy websites that strive to gain attention from their viewers.
Animations like those can be very useful for giving out information in a more intruiging manner. Animations can also catch
the eye of people trying to shop for products or groceries - and with scroll-based animations that experience can be made much more enjoyable.
I definitley feel like this trend is going to be the standard. Animations like the ones discussed have been used in countless websites in the past couple years.
The concept of anti-design, as described by Wix - is that it "draws on harsh qualities that aim to break the principles of design". This can
include having broken appearances, clashing textures, overlapping, etc. This "chaos" can cause a lot of interest from the viewer. It can also make your website more interesting to look at.
I feel like anti-design is a good design concept - but it can definitley be a struggle to implement in information-giving websites.
I feel like it has it's time and place, but I don't know if I see it as becoming a major trend.
Imagine a high-intensity red or neon green flashing across your face as you view a newly-anticipated website. You might get a little shock,
some dopamine, and some rather exciting emotions. This is due to the emotion-encouraging colors trend. A lot of web designers are switching from
toned-down colors to neon colors. Reason for this being that implementing these high-colored palettes can encourage a cool, noisy tone that - as Wix puts it -
will "attract the likes of the trendsetting Gen Z generation".
I do feel like this will become a standard - but will only be used for specific kinds of websites.
